Duchon, M.A., is an applied anthropologist at the Department of Anthropology and Geography at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. There she works as the Co-Director of the Nutrition Education for New Americans Project. She is active in community affairs relating to refugees and immigrants, and serves on the Governor’s Advisory Board on Refugee Issues. She has worked on a variety of applied anthropology projects, all related to immigrants and refugees, especially involving health care, law enforcement and education.
